How it works and what it targets
LNJST retains particle-on-particle milling and classifier return while replacing open air with a compatible protective gas. After product collection, gas is filtered, conditioned and recompressed for reuse. Sealed feed and discharge interfaces, oxygen monitoring, make-up gas and pressure balancing maintain operating conditions. Nitrogen and argon are not interchangeable without checking material compatibility.
Reference process steps
- 1Sealed feeding and purging limit incoming air and moisture.
- 2Collision milling and dynamic classification remove acceptable particles and return coarse material.
- 3Collection, backup filtration and gas return protect downstream gas equipment.
Configuration and operating conditions
Controls and interlocks
Oxygen analysis, make-up gas, pressure control and start/stop sequences work together. PLC/HMI control can interface with a plant DCS as specified. A closed circuit alone does not establish an explosion-protection certification.
Contact materials and sealing
Select liners, seals and filters for contamination limits, abrasion, moisture sensitivity and cleaning. Include sampling, maintenance and product changeover in the exposure assessment.
Information needed for selection
Provide composition, oxidation/moisture sensitivity, feed and target size, throughput, impurity limits, available gas and plant interfaces. Check gas and material compatibility separately for lithium hydroxide and metal powders.
Discuss selection inputsTrial and acceptance considerations
Trials record particle size, impurities, moisture, oxygen, make-up gas and collection mass balance. Oxygen setpoints, leak-tightness criteria and protective logic require a material-specific engineering assessment.
