Process notes

Three-in-one laboratory platform

LNM-18FF integrates jet milling, impact milling and classification for comparing processing routes.

How it works and what it targets

Configuration changes let the platform address different tasks: particle-collision milling in jet mode, impact action in mechanical mode and size-fraction separation in classifier mode. Integration simplifies experimental setup, but does not imply all three functions operate simultaneously or have identical sample and throughput requirements.

Reference process steps

  1. 1Define comparison metrics and select the trial mode.
  2. 2Check module, contact parts, seals and cleanliness before testing.
  3. 3Use a consistent analysis method to compare size, recovery, temperature and contamination.

Configuration and operating conditions

Materials and atmosphere options

Discuss ceramic contact components and inert-gas arrangements for purity, abrasion or sensitive powders. Confirm material suitability and cleaning separately for each mode.

Comparative trials

Compare impact and jet milling on the same batch, or classify first to determine whether milling is needed. Retain feed and outlet samples to trace differences.

Information needed for selection

Describe research objectives, sample types and changeover frequency, required modes, size/purity targets, laboratory utilities and space.

Discuss selection inputs

Trial and acceptance considerations

Record settings, processed quantity, recovery and cleaning for each mode. Conclusions apply to that mode rather than serving as universal platform specifications.
