How it works and what it targets
Engineering addresses more than finer grinding. Feed variability, impurities, moisture, wear, energy, stream destinations and outputs jointly define the route. Fine-powder lines, bulk-residue processing and recycling/separation have different criteria and require distinct mass balances, product specifications and facility boundaries.
Reference process steps
- 1Sample feed, characterize composition/size/moisture and define products and by-products.
- 2Use trials to combine pretreatment, milling, classification and collection.
- 3Calculate energy, conveying, storage and site requirements to define implementation scope.
Configuration and operating conditions
Fine-powder systems
Connect steady feeding, size reduction, classification, collection and packing, selecting contact materials and sealed interfaces for purity, distribution and cleaning.
Bulk residues and waste heat
For fly ash and slags, establish composition, potential use and quality requirements first. Compare steam and other milling routes with separate accounting for steam, electricity and product value.
Waste circuit-board comminution and separation
Define source, prior dismantling, metallic/non-metallic composition and target fractions. Then assess liberation, separation and dust collection, including external pretreatment and downstream boundaries. A recycling category alone cannot establish equipment or recovery performance.
Conveying projects
Standalone conveying projects still require source/receiver storage, dosing, collection and controls to be defined. Existing-plant installations add shutdown and interface assessment.
Information needed for selection
Provide feed composition/variability, representative samples, target products/end uses, throughput, energy, site and external process interfaces.
Discuss selection inputsTrial and acceptance considerations
Validate mass balance, product quality and the feasible route before defining scope. Separation, recovery and economics are calculated for the actual feed and targets.
