How it works and what it targets
Powder moisture originates in feed, process gas and environmental exposure. Trace-moisture control must remove the removable water and limit re-uptake during collection, transfer, storage and packing. Distinguish adsorbed, free and structural water before defining temperature, residence and analysis, then select combined milling/drying or a separate treatment.
Reference process steps
- 1Measure feed moisture and define the product test method.
- 2Condition gas and apply suitable heat/mass transfer with process monitoring.
- 3Filter and discharge through sealed interfaces, then pack under suitable dry conditions.
Configuration and operating conditions
Combined with milling
Where trials support it, moisture removal can be combined with milling. Newly exposed surfaces require moisture checks through cooling and collection. The route for LFP or other materials depends on feed and performance requirements.
Moisture control across the line
Gas dew point and measured powder moisture are different metrics. Include sealing, filtered return gas, sampling and packaging within one control boundary.
Information needed for selection
Submit moisture type and inlet/outlet targets, analysis method, thermal stability, flowability, output, dry-gas supply and downstream packaging conditions.
Discuss selection inputsTrial and acceptance considerations
Test product moisture under agreed sampling/sealing conditions while recording temperature, dew point, residence and energy. Do not infer final powder moisture directly from gas dew point.
