How it works and what it targets
A feeding station transfers packaged raw material into the process. Bulk and small bags require different handling, opening and flow-assistance arrangements, but operator actions, dust capture, weighing and downstream reception form one process. Hygroscopic powders also require control of exposure time and gas exchange at the feeding/collection interface.
Reference process steps
- 1Confirm material and lot, then move the package to the feed position.
- 2Connect or open the bag with local dust capture and flow assistance.
- 3Meter and transfer material, then manage empty bags, cleaning and residue.
Configuration and operating conditions
Bulk-bag unloading
Configure around bag connection, support, lifting height and retained material. Poorly flowing powders require trials of discharge assistance; added vibration alone does not establish suitability.
Small-bag feeding
Consider working height, capture at bag opening, empty-bag handling and changeover cleaning. Screening or foreign-body removal can be added where required, with defined location and verification.
Hygroscopic feeds and filtration
For feeds such as lithium hydroxide, consider humid-air ingress and filter condition. Sealed interfaces and filter cleaning jointly affect feeding-zone airflow, balancing dust capture with product protection.
Information needed for selection
Provide package dimensions/mass, feeding frequency, powder properties, dosing needs, lifting conditions, cleaning frequency and downstream pressure.
Discuss selection inputsTrial and acceptance considerations
Use representative bags to verify unloading time, residue, capture, dosing and cleanability. Capacity must include operating and bag-change time.
